Painting Tropical Fruits. Still Life in Oils Course for Beginners
Inspired by Ana Mercedes Hoyos’ still lifes from Palenque, I will guide you to observe tropical fruits and create a painting in your authentic voice.
In this course you will develop understanding of the oil painting technique and confidence in using colour. You will learn the basics about oil painting materials, how to mix paint colours and how to apply paint using brushes.
I will explain you how to observe the still life and will demonstrate how to make a charcoal and a painting sketch. Then you will paint on a board. We will focus on developing observation skills, colour mixing, composition, form, tonal values and colour relationships.
This workshop will be taught mostly on one to one basis and a lot of help will be given to overcome any obstacles you will face.
Together with me you will create a still life in oil paints.
All materials are provided.
